Naturgy sanctioned by the AEPD with 80,000 euros<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Naturgy Energy Group S.A.<\/a> was sanctioned with 80,000 euros by the AEPD<\/a> because the company made a change in the email address of a customer by telephone, when the contract holder never authorized the change, as there was identity theft. <\/p>\n

The Agency acknowledged that there were breaches of Articles 5.1 f) and 32 of the GDPR<\/a>, as the confidentiality of the customer’s personal data was breached, as well as the security measures implemented by Naturgy, as these were not sufficient to prevent such events.<\/p>\n

After Naturgy Energy Group S.A. acknowledged its responsibility for the facts, the sanctioning process was finalized through voluntary payment PS\/00100\/2022<\/a>, and the final amount of the sanction was 48,000 euros.<\/p>\n
