Amazon penalized with 746 million
Amazon Europe Core Sarl, located in Luxembourg, has been fined 746 million euros by the Luxembourg National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) on the grounds that the processing of personal data by the U.S. company is in breach of the European Data Protection Regulation (E.D.P.R.). European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Although the CNPD cannot publish specific cases of sanctions until the end of the appeal period, Amazon has confirmed the sanction, which it considers disproportionate and announces that it will appeal the sanction.
