New Cookie Instruction
Instructions on Cookies have been updated
Yesterday (July 28) the AEPD has updated the instructions regarding Cookies, through a guide that replaces the last guide published in November 2019.
The AEPD thus adapts its instructions to those published on May 4, 2020 by the European Data Protection Committee (ECDC) in its“Guidelines 05/2020 on consent under Regulation 2016/679“, with the relevant fact that these must be implemented on all websites by October 31, 2020.
Given that cookies can provide a lot of data on habits and preferences (profiling) the CEPD and the AEPD appeal mainly to the
Transparency Obligation:
- What information should be provided to the user.
- How to display this information
Obtain Consent:
- Who must give consent
- Modalities for obtaining consent
- Consent for children under 14 years of age
- When cookies may be used and, where appropriate, installed
- Changes in the use of cookies
- Consent update
- Withdrawal of consent
- Among others.
