Data protection regulations(RGPD and LOPD-GDD), requires backup as a necessary measure to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information being processed. This service can be performed by own means but there must always be a copy outside the facilities where the original information is located, or by hiring external servers, which must be within the European Union, EEA, or in countries with equivalent guarantees. In case of fire, theft, intrusion, etc., it is useless for your backup copy to be in your own facilities, as it would not fulfill its purpose.

If you choose a housing or hosting service, you should demand at least the following from the provider:
- Facilities with video surveillance and security personnel that manage access control, surveillance and monitoring of client systems. Operational 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
- It has fire control systems, smoke and gas control and fire extinguishing system.
- Redundant power supply system (by generator sets and UPS)
- That data is stored in duplicate on separate media and disconnected from Internet access.
- The information is stored encrypted using a powerful system.
- Internet connection service through multiple telecommunications operators
- Rooms equipped with air conditioning systems that guarantee a constant temperature of 22º and humidity of 50%, which allows for perfect operation of the telecommunications systems and equipment.
