Article 4 of Decision 2021/914 establishes that any contract intended to regulate the international transfer of personal data must contain the requirements of the new Decision 2021/914 and those signed with a previous content will be valid until December 27, 2022 and a new contract will have to be signed with the provisions of Decision 2021/914 before that date.

The deadline may be extended until December 27, 2022, only if the international transfer of the data covered by the contract remains unchanged and the content of the contract ensures that the transfer is subject to adequate safeguards.
